Welcome to the British Columbia Search Dog Association Website.

The British Columbia Search Dog Association was formed in 2001 with the Co-Operation
of the Provincial Emergency Program (PEP), RCMP Police Dog Service and the Justice
Institute of British Columbia.

The purpose of the British Columbia Search Dog Association (BCSDA) is:
    • To provide highly trained volunteer search
    dog teams for Search and Rescue deployment
    throughout the Province of British Columbia;

    • To train and promote use of validated
    search dog teams in the Province of B.C.;

    • To assist Search and Rescue personnel in
    getting trained as Search dog handlers;

    • To increase the public awareness of, interest
    in, and the use of Search and Rescue dogs;

    • To promote a positive image and protect the
    interests of the search and rescue community
    in the Province of British Columbia;

    • And to encourage and foster good
    relationships between BCSDA and SAR
    managers, Police Dog Handlers, legislative
    and Law enforcement bodies.
